May Is National Foster Care Month: #ProjectMyFavoriteThing Celebrates Moms

May 7, 2019
Connect Our Kids launches #ProjectMyFavoriteThing to Celebrate May, National Foster Care Month
Oftentimes, we think of May as the month to honor our mothers and as a month gearing up to a summer filled with outdoor activities and vacations. In addition (and poignantly for us), May is National Foster Care Month, a time to acknowledge foster parents, family members, volunteers, mentors, policymakers, child welfare professionals, and other members of the community who help children and youth in foster care find permanent homes and connections.

During National Foster Care Month, we renew our commitment to building Family Connections software to improve foster care outcomes by collaborating at the intersection of child welfare and innovative technology.

Connect Our Kids takes an existing, successful approach to finding families for foster kids and scales it up through technology.

In honor of Mother’s Day and National Foster Care Month, Connect Our Kids is launching our inaugural Day of Giving as May 15th.

Each year, we’ll be focusing on getting you involved with helping us achieve our mission. In addition to donating, we’re asking you to join our #ProjectMyFavoriteThing.

How You Can Make a Difference

One.

Submit on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter your favorite thing about your mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, or a mother you know. We know DNA does not determine motherhood. And we also know that every #FosterKid and #Orphan deserves to have a mother who loves them unconditionally.

Not comfortable with video? Write down your favorite thing on a piece of paper and take a picture.

Two.

Join the move to connect every child in America to a permanent, loving mother.
